Master in the Theology of Joseph Ratzinger / Benedict XVI
Our mission is anchored in the following core pillars:
- Fidelity to the Magisterium: We pledge unwavering adherence to the Depositum Fidei (Deposit of Faith), as preserved, safeguarded, and authentically interpreted by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Grounded in a “hermeneutic of reform in continuity,” our theological inquiry is conducted in strict communion with the chair of Peter, rejecting theological relativism and embracing the timeless truths of the Church.
- The Synthesis of Faith and Reason: In accordance with the profound thought of Joseph Ratzinger, we foster a rigorous academic environment in which faith and right reason mutually purify and elevate each other. We seek to form minds capable of engaging contemporary culture with intellectual charity, robust apologetics, and the profound Christocentric wisdom that characterizes the theology of Pope Benedict.
- The Uncompromising Defense of Human Life: We are firmly committed to the Gospel of Life (Evangelium Vitae). Our program cultivates a theological worldview that unequivocally upholds the sacredness and inherent dignity of every human life from conception until natural death. We prepare our students to become courageous advocates for the unborn, the vulnerable, and the elderly, bearing witness to the truth of human dignity in the face of a prevailing materialistic culture.
- A Commitment to Catholic Moral Teaching: Theology is not merely an intellectual pursuit but a path to sanctity. We encourage and uphold a life lived in faithful accordance with Catholic moral teaching. Our students and professors are called to bear witness to the beauty of Christian virtue, the sanctity of marriage and family, the primary right of the parents to educate their children, and the universal call to holiness. In this way, doctrinal truth is integrated into daily life and expressed through authentic moral and spiritual formation.
- Liturgical and Spiritual Depth: Recognizing that the Liturgy is the “source and summit” of the Christian life, we place strong emphasis on a rich sacramental life and a profound Eucharistic spirituality, inspired by Joseph Ratzinger’s vision of “the reform of the reform.” We seek to foster a deep interior life, in which theological study naturally leads to prayer, adoration, and an authentic love for the Church, uniting intellectual formation with spiritual growth.
